Funeral Committee

The aim of the Funeral Committee is to provide financial and practical assistance to a member and their dependents in
the event of a bereavement within the family.

Rules and Regulations

Eligibilty
  1. Membership is open only to Bangladesh Muslims residing in Coventry.
  2. Membership runs on a year-by-year basis.
Membership Renewal
  1. Every member must renew their membership annually before 31 January.
  2. Failure to renew within this period will result in forfeiture of membership, and no benefits may be claimed in the event of bereavement.
Family Coverage
  1. By virtue of membership, a member’s spouse and children up to the age of 18 are automatically covered.
  2. Children who reach the age of 18 years may apply for membership in their own right by paying the applicable fees.

Subscription and Renewal Fees

One-Off Joining Fee

The one-off joining fee is based on the applicant’s age at the time of joining.

  1. Age 18-25 : £150
Annual Subscription Fee

The annual subscription fee is £200.00

Benefits

The following benefits shall be provided in the event of the death of a member or their eligible children
  • Death and burial in the UK
  • Cost of the grave
  • Death in the UK and burial in Bangladesh:
    Burial services provided free of charge
  • Collection of the deceased from hospital or home
  • Completion of all religious and legal requirements (with next of kin present where required)
  • Arrangement of burial at Coventry Muslim Graveyard
Management
  • The existing Shah Jalal Jame Masjid community shall remain in charge of the Funeral Committee.
  • Day-to-day operations shall be carried out by: M Joshim Uddin, M Abdul Hannan and their team.
